TrafficFactory is a global provider of high-quality traffic. We provide an RTB platform (Real Time Bidding) by which online advertising space is bought and sold on a per-impression basis.

Real-time bidding (RTB) is a means by which advertising space is bought and sold on a per-impression basis, via programmatic auction, similar to financial markets. A user visits a website, a bid request in generated, the bid request in distributed to the advertisers who bid in real-time, the winning bid has their creative shown to the user.

Upon registering at Traffic Factory, you will be asked to fill out your details including an example website URL. We understand that not all advertisers have a website and use different mediums to advertise. We recommend that you include the URL for the particular promotion that you are looking to advertise so that your account manager is aware of the type of promotion you will be advertising.

Whilst Traffic factory is a self-serve RTB platform, upon an advertiser’s account activation, a selection of PDF tutorials will be sent to explain the basic running of the account. We also offer free in-house training which is conducted via a Skype meeting. This training will explain the methods of functionality of the platform and enable a beginner access to browse the platform with ease. Account Managers are also available to answer advertiser needs and help explain how features and tools on the platform function.

Account validation times can vary. Upon registration, a new advertiser’s details will be sent to their corresponding Account Manager who will then get in touch via email requesting further information regarding the promotion that is to be run. We generally say that account activation times can vary between 24-72 hours.

Traffic Factory is a self-serve RTB platform giving total control to the advertiser. Due to this, we do not offer a Media Buying service and do not openly participate in the setting up or maintaining of an advertiser’s campaign.

CAMPAIGN

CPM stands for “Cost Per Mille” meaning that advertisers pay a set price for a thousand impressions of their advertisement. To compete with other bidding models, an eCPM value is calculated. For CPM models, the eCPM is the value of the advertisers bid. This model will show you fast results, statistics, and a clear evolution just a few minutes after the campaign’s activation. Greater focus on bid structure is needed to achieve a higher ad market share. High quality banners are required to drive use interest and traffic to the promotion.

A CPC stands for “Cost per Click” meaning advertisers pay a set amount for each click of their creative. This model requires less management as you will only pay for a click. To compete with other bidding models, an eCPM value is calculated. For CPC models, the eCPM is calculated through two factors – bid amount and CTR of the creatives used. This eCPM value is determined after a short period of time.Your budget is under control as long as you pay attention to your CTR! It is to be noted that use of precise and target orientated creatives must be used in order to avoid a too high CTR.

In order for the two different models to compete openly, a common value called eCPM must be calculated.

For CPM campaigns, the bid amount acts as the eCPM value

For CPC campaigns, the eCPM is calculated based on the bid amount and CTR of the creatives used. A CPC campaign will be cast for an initial time period to determine an eCPM value. Once this is calculated, both CPC and CPM campaigns actively compete against each other.

The reimpression tool option allows you to continue an ad campaign once it has achieved its aim or if you wish to continue it for longer.

The re-impression system for CPC campaigns is automatically set as creatives will continue to be printed until the campaign budget has been reached.

The re-impression system for CPM campaigns allows you to increase the volume of traffic at a preferential price. By default, a CPM campaign will receive 1 impression per campaign, per unique user and per session (default session / frequency cap is 8H). Then with our re-impression system, you can decide to re-display your campaign at a lower price.

You can control the volume of re-impressions and prices. Your CPM campaigns are re-displayed with or without limitation (upon your selection) and are ranked based on your CPM.

Geo-fence is a targeting tool which allows the advertiser to target a certain location and a 50km radius around. This is particularly effective for targeted local offers. Not being restricted to one single target, multiple geo-fence targets can be selected at the same time.

A target template allows you to save a batch of targets commonly used to promote by an advertiser. This will include the country, device and categories. By creating a template, an advertiser is able to save time by having pre-selected their target criteria which they can later use for other campaigns.

Conversions are not tracked at Traffic Factory, purely impressions and clicks. We recommend all our advertisers to have an external analytics tool running alongside their campaign. Contact you Account Manager to discuss this.

No, we are not a media agency and do not offer the creation of banners as a service.

Both static and animated banners are accepted. For animated banners, we accept GIF format. We do not accept any form of flashing element.

Once a creative is uploaded to our platform AND linked to a relevant campaign, it is then sent to our review team. Generally speaking, in the matter of a few minutes to an hour, banners are reviewed. Please take into account that during busy periods and weekends, the process can take longer.

ACCOUNTING

No, we do not offer flat rate deals. We do however offer a re-impression service at a preferential rate for all CPM campaigns.

There is NO cost for an advertiser account at Traffic Factory! The only cost will be to credit your account to run your campaigns but there are no “account running” costs and our Account Manager support is free (As is our training support!)

Each ad spot has a different minimum bid value and this varies from one country to another. These values are the strict minimum it will cost an advertiser to advertise on that sport for that particular country. A full list of our Minimum Bids can be found here. Do bear in mind that to obtain higher positions, an increased bid will be necessary. If you require further information on how to structure your bid, please contact your Account Manager who will be glad to assist you.

There are several methods available to credit your account. These are Paxum, Vendo, Wire transfer and Paypal. To credit your account, got to ACCOUNTING followed by ADD FUNDS. Here you are able to select your method of payment, validate whether you are VAT exempt and then create an Insertion Order which is used as electronically signed contract intent for payment. You will then be directed to the payment processor chosen to complete the final steps.

Wire transfers can vary depending on the country of origin of the said transfer. Generally speaking, a wire transfer will take between 2-6 days to be active on an advertiser’s account.

Budgets will vary depending on the choice of campaign you wish to run, the parameters you will setup for targeting and also the country you are looking to target. Minimum deposits vary from country to country but, in order to test your campaign, we generally agree that between $300-500 is suitable to test different traffic. After 48-72hours, an advertiser will have enough information to begin to adjust their campaign accordingly with the audience they are targeting.

Upon crediting an account, advertisers are asked to fill out an Insertion Order. Once the payment has been received, the Insertion Order is validated and acts of proof of payment. All Insertion Orders can be found in the  ACCOUNTING section of the advertisers dashboard followed by ADVERTISING INSERTION ORDERS. These are available in PDF format and are readily downloadable.

You may obtain a refund of your current unspent account balance. This can be done by either:

  • Contacting your Account Manager
  • Creating a support ticket.
